4. Mattupetty Dam – Mattupetty Dam and the adjoining lake is another popular tourist spot in the town. It is 18 km away from Nyayamkadu Waterfalls. Nyayamkadu Waterfalls is about 10 km away from Munnar bus stop. You can also hire a cab to reach Munnar.

By Rail – Munnar doesn’t have a railway station, but you can get to Aluva by train. It is the nearest station to Munnar, about 120 km away. And from there, you can take a bus or cab to reach Munnar. Regular trains run between Aluva and other nearby towns in the area. Coimbatore (150 km), Ernakulam (120 km), and Madurai (170 km) also are in proximity to Munnar with a better nation-wide railway network.

By Air – The nearest airport to Munnar is Cochin International Airport, about 120 km away. It has daily flights from various airports in the country and abroad. You can also take a flight to Coimbatore or Madurai airport and then get on a bus to Munnar. Private cabs are also available.
