Located in the quaint village of Mattupetty, the Indo-Swiss Farm is a dairy farm dedicated to cattle breeding and rearing. Also known as Madupetty, this village is often called ‘The Switzerland of Kerala’ alluding to the Indo-Swiss Livestock Project which resulted in the formation of this farm.
The hundreds of cattle here are of a high quality since they are specially bred. The cattle heads themselves add up to 400! Apart from the animal pastures, there are herbal plants and coco leaves that are planted across the fields.

The farm’s proximity to the popular hill station of Munnar places it close to a lot of wonderful sightseeing places. You can consider visiting the following spots which are nearby:
1. Mattupetty Dam: This concrete gravity dam overlooks the beautiful Mattupetty Lake. Get here between 9:30 AM and 5 PM to enjoy various types of boating on the lake. You can also go on a horse-back ride on the banks. The top of Mattupetty Dam, accessible to pedestrians, is a nice vantage point for taking pictures.
2. Carmelagiri Elephant Park: Expect elephant-back rides through the forests and a chance to watch these pachyderms take a bath and go about their meals as you explore Carmelagiri Elephant Park. You can also see how the mahouts train the elephants and teach them forest works such as transporting logs.

Aim to visit in the summers or at a time when the sky is relatively fog-free so you can watch the Nilgiri Hills in their full glory.
